FINLAND
This retro team Finland game worn jersey was used by goalie Petri Vehanen at the 2012 World Championships in Helsinki, Finland. The jersey commemorates the design of their game uniforms in 1988 winter olympics in Calgary. It was worn in one preliminary round match against Slovakia which Finland won 1-0. Vehanen was the starting goalie in the match and he got a 26-save shutout.
Finland finished 4th after losing the bronze medal game against Czech Republic 2-3.
Vehanen was the gold winning goalie at the 2011 World Championships in Slovakia.
During his career he played in 4 World Championships and the 2012 was the last of them. While playing in SM-liiga he always represented his home town team, Rauman Lukko where he was throughout his career regarded as one of the best goalies in the whole league.
He played the last 4 seasons of his career representing Eisbären Berlin in DEL where he became very popular and respected player among the team's fans. He played also in KHL representing the Czech-based team Lev Prague and Ak Bars Kazan.
He retired in Berlin after 2017-18 season.
